Puppy Level 1

Puppy Level 1 Manners & Basic Obedience Puppies wanting to attend will need their 3rd round of puppy shots & no older than 16 weeks. |
CLASS SUMMARY
Perfect opportunity for you to bond with your new puppy and give it a strong, confident, and well-mannered start in life. Puppies will be socialized and introduced to a variety of basic skills in a fun and safe atmosphere. Flat buckle collar or harness recommended. Instructor will discuss benefits of each with you. |

CLASS SUMMARY
This class builds on the skills learned in Puppy 1. At the end of this class, your instructor will administer the AKC STAR puppy test. After passing the test, you will receive an application which you can to send to the AKC for enrollment in their program. Your puppy will receive a medal and will be listed in the AKC STAR Puppy records. |

This class will expand upon Level 1 class behaviors as well as introduce additional new behaviors. There will be more fun distractions and include a lot more practice as a group. This Level 2 class also includes the Canine Good Citizen skills (CGC). The AKC Canine Good Citizen test will be offered at the end of class, however, it is not mandatory. |

If you're wanting more to do with your dog, expand their social manners, then this is the class for you! In this class we will be refining obedience skills, and building on social skills. This class will alternate weekly between in-house instruction, and field trips. We will be filming on our outings to be reviewed in the next class! |
INTRO TO NOSEWORK

Want your dog to gain confidence and develop a stronger sense of purpose? In this class, the handler has to rely on the dog, and follow the dog’s nose to success. Your dog will learn to search for specific scents (usually treats at this level) and how to “cue” their owner when the scent has been found. Tasks in this class are kept simple. Targets are found. And praise is given! This class is great for a variety of dogs, even anxious dogs and elderly dogs. |

The first week of this four week class will be at Dog World Sarasota preparing for outings the following weeks. We will then be visiting different venues in the community for the next three weeks. The focus of the class will be working to improve our social behaviors and manners in a public setting. This class will serve as a precursor to our upcoming fall Community classes! |
